Trex HQ won the NAIOP VA 2023 Award of Excellence for Best Build-to-Suit, Non-Institutional. Congrats to the amazing team of HITT Contracting, Cagley & Associates, BALA Consulting, Page Southerland Page, LSG Landscape, B-More Consulting, Stowe Engineering, and Southland Concrete.
MGMA collaborated with the team to create this stunning new 62,000sf headquarters in Winchester, Virginia, which received LEED Silver certification. Our primary focus during the design process was to ensure that the space accurately reflects Trex's dedication to sustainable and responsible manufacturing practices. The result is a beautiful and functional workspace that truly embodies the company's values.
The design utilizes Trex products throughout, specifically the planks applied to the tilt-up concrete panels, providing a rain screen. Not only does the vertical installation give the façade a visual feature, but it also creates an illusion of added height to this two-story building. The Trex planks and double-height glazing frame the angular entrance, breaking the rhythm of the façade and creating an inviting entrance.
12,000sf of Trex material was utilized in the design. Trex, which is made up of 95% recycled consumer plastic, aids the project in achieving LEED Silver Certification.
