MGMA served as Executive Architect for JBG Smith’s new corporate headquarters situated in the heart of Downtown Bethesda. The project covered redevelopment of two buildings, 4733 Bethesda Avenue and 4735 Bethesda Avenue, and maintained the existing garage connection to 7200 Wisconsin Avenue.

Targeting LEED Gold Standards, the 223,600-square-foot, 14-story office building has a rooftop terrace amenity space affording surrounding views of Bethesda and beyond. Desirable features include a sophisticated lobby with Calcutta marble and herringbone-patterned inlays, 3,600-square-foot, state-of-the-art fitness facility, indoor/outdoor lounge, conference and event space, and a double-height private terrace with a striking, curved bronze and glass exterior.

MGMA coordinated and scheduled multiple firms under the contract, including Design Architects (2), MEP, Structural, Landscape, Acoustical, Building Envelope, Elevator, Graphic Design, Code, and BIM Modeling. Additionally, MGMA worked with a third-party design team to develop the retail component, incorporating suggestions and storefronts elements into the final design.
